new york If you plan to visit some of the top U.S. cities, you should plan your trip to coincide with the best weather conditions there so you can thoroughly enjoy your stay. Here are some of the major cities most visited in the United States and their optimal times in terms of weather conditions.

New York City
New York is full of excitement, with Broadway theaters, shopping, first-rate museums, and Central Park as just a few of the many, many attractions it has to offer. Any season is excellent for a visit to New York, but late spring and early fall are the most comfortable months, weather-wise. May and June are usually warm but not uncomfortably hot yet. September and October can be warm or cool, with the tree's leaves changing color for a spectacular view of the city.

Los Angeles
L.A. does not have the perfectly sunny, always warm, weather most people believe it does. The Santa Ana winds in the fall and early spring can make it uncomfortable, hot and dry. The ocean water is warmest in August, if you'd like to take advantage of the sea. Los Angeles has the most rain in the winter. The best time to visit the city is in April or October when skies are clear and the temperature is mild.

Chicago
If you want to see Chicago, it's best to go during the warm summer months or the autumn because this town can get extremely cold in the winter months. The color-changing leaves in autumn are beautiful, especially walking The Museum Mile, with cool nights and some warmth still during the days. Summer is peak travel time for Chicago, but it can be quite warm, in the 80s and above at times. Late spring is a great time to visit Chicago when the rains have died down and the weather is warming up nicely.

downtown miamiMiami
The best season to visit Miami, Florida, or most Florida cities, is January to April. There is not much rain at this time and the temperatures usually average in the 70s. If you like it a little warmer than that, however, visit Miami during October through December when temperatures can go up to 83 degrees Farenheit on average. Stay away in June and September, when rain is at its peak, and during July and August when the heat and humidity plus the rain will not be pleasant.

Washington, D.C.
April going into May is the best time to visit Washington. The weather is lovely with flowers blooming, trees blossoming and sunshine with mild temperatures. Fall is also a good time to visit the nation's capital. The days are warm and it gets crisp and cool at night. Plus the fall foliage in late October is brilliantly colorful.

las vegasLas Vegas
This desert city's temperatures can zoom into uncomfortable hundred-plus degree weather in the summertime. It's best to come here in spring and fall when the weather is more temperate. Even the winter months of December through February are pleasant enough in Las Vegas, with a little more rainfall than spring or fall, but still moderate temperatures.
